Wills, Probate, PoA and ILA

Wills

Many of us undermine the importance of a will and put off making one until it is too late, which is why at Yasin and Co Solicitors we encourage all individuals to make a will, so that they have peace of mind that their assets will be distributed according to their wishes. We understand that making a will or administering an estate can be an emotional experience, but it is one of the most important documents you will ever sign.

Our experienced solicitors will ensure your needs are met whether your intentions are simple, such as leaving your entire estate to your spouse, or more complex, involving trusts for young children. We will use our knowledge and experience to ensure your will is drafted clearly, correctly and reflects your wishes.

We also advise on Islamic Wills for individuals who wish to distribute their assets in accordance with the principles of Sharia law.

We also provide home visits for clients who are unable to come to our office.

Probate

Probate (or estate administration) involves the distribution of a deceased’s assets. We understand that a death in the family can be an extremely overwhelming time full of emotion and distress, which is why we can guide you through the probate process to help ease your burden.

In the event that the deceased has left a will, we will ensure that the will is followed accordingly. In the absence of a will, we will conduct searches to determine the deceased’s assets and liabilities and deal with the estate accordingly.

We will also advise you and assist you with tax liability including Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax. We will ensure all available tax exemptions and reliefs are applied.

Power of Attorney

A General/Ordinary Power of Attorney is a legal way of giving someone else the power to manager your financial affairs when it is difficult for you to manage them yourself.

A Lasting Power of Attorney gives someone the ability to make decisions on your behalf when you no longer want to make decisions for yourself, or you lack the capacity to do so. You can set up a Lasting Power of Attorney to protect yourself in future.

At Yasin and Co Solicitors, we have a great deal of experience in Power of Attorney and can help you to plan so that your affairs can be managed according to your wishes.

Independent Legal Advice

Independent Legal Advice is a signed document to confirm that you have received legal advice from an independent solicitor relating to a particular matter.

Independent Legal Advice is most commonly required for the following:

  • Director’s Personal Guarantees
  • Occupier’s Consent to a Mortgage
  • Joint Mortgage Sole Proprietor
  • Occupier Waiver
  • Employment Settlement Agreement

At Yasin and Co Solicitors, we provide Independent Legal Advice and will fully explain to you the nature and content of the document that you are signing so that you understand the risk involved. We provide Independent Legal Advice at competitive rates and in a very timely manner. We also ensure that paperwork is returned on the same day as signing.
